Ceratostema rauhii-perfect hanging basket plant, beautiful Neotropical blueberry

Images one through three are plant and flower details on my stock specimen plant. The plant for sale plant is an established division consisting of several established stem cuttings and is shown in the fourth and fifth images, planted in pure NZ sphagnum in a 3.5” hanging basket. Longest stems about 16”/40 cm. Ceratostema rauhii is an exceptionally rare, very elegant-looking, and free-flowering epiphytic tropical blueberry species from Perú and possibly Ecuador at elevations between ~6,500-7,200’/2,000 and 2,200 m. This is undoubtedly one of the finest cool-growing tropical plants for hanging baskets around, and stems will ultimately exceed 7’/2.10 m in length with space and good cultivation. Somewhat temperature tolerant but prefers cool and intermediate conditions. It was discovered by famed cacti and succulent specialist Werner Rauh in Peru in 1990, and for more than two decades was known only from the type locality and a single clone in cultivation. Very free flowering in late winter and spring once stems reach about 2’ in length. Surprisingly easy to grow for such a rare ad exotic-looking plant and has only recently started to become available commercially. All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.
